How will your idea be used?

The ideas received will help us understand what people want from the Park Lands in the future.

We will analyse the ideas to help shape Park Lands strategies and projects.

These strategies and projects will be included in the draft Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy which will be released for public comment towards the end of the year.

If you provide us with your email address when you submit your idea we will send you updates as the project progresses.

You are also able to click on the 'Love it' or 'I'm not sold' buttons under each idea. This will give us a quick indication on whether the community is supportive of the idea and will also be analysed to help shape Park Lands strategies and projects.

Please note that multiple likes or dislikes on the same idea by one individual will not be counted during the reporting process.

What is the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy?

The Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy (the Park Lands Strategy) is the main planning document which informs management and improvement of the Park Lands.

It includes a list of projects to be delivered in the Park Lands.

The preparation of the Park Lands Strategy is a requirement under the Adelaide Park Lands Act 2005.

The Park Lands Strategy must be updated every 5 years.

The current Park Lands Strategy was endorsed in 2010 – hence an update is now due.

What are the timeframes for preparation of the Strategy?

We are collecting ideas and having discussions around the future of the Park Lands until Friday July 17, 2015.

A draft Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy will be ready towards the end of this year and will be released for public comment prior to Christmas.

If you provide us with your email address when you submit your idea we will send you updates as the project progresses.

The final Park Lands Strategy will be launched following adoption by the Adelaide City Council and State Government. We are aiming for a launch in the first half of 2016.

What is guiding Council’s planning for the Park Lands?

In August 2014 the Adelaide Park Lands Authority endorsed a set of principles to guide planning for the future of the Park Lands.

What other Park Lands plans are already in place?

There are a number of important planning documents that are already in place that will inform our planning for the future of the Park Lands.

It is the role of the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy to bring together the directions of these plans into a single and integrated planning document which provides a vision for the Park Lands that delivers a diversity of spaces and attractions for all South Australians.
