Public parks should be alive not only with plants but people too and mazes are a wonderful way of providing both. Mazes are really fun … get lost with your mates and family … have competitions to see who can get out first!
One example is the Ashcombe Maze, Mornington Peninsula, in Victoria. Another is the Hampton Court Maze, London, with 750,000 visitors a year - a natural, and novel entertainment venue that’s a hit with people of all ages. Adelaide’s best quality is that it’s a city within a park and the parklands must be protected but Colonel Light would want more of us to visit them. They need to offer more to do. A maze is one attraction that blends perfectly into a natural setting and does not cause damage. It’s pretty low maintenance – after all, there’s no mechanical parts to go wrong - and our Adelaide Maze can access the recycled water that’s now running into the parklands.
