West Terrace is an amazing opportunity largely untapped. The predominantly poor building stock is ripe for transformation. The park frontage, proximity to Schools and University, recreation, Central markets etc, could allow West Terrace to emerge as a vibrant contemporary edge presenting a 21st century entrance for visitors arriving from the airport or train. Grote street becomes a spectacular boulevard linking straight into Vic Sqaure.

10 lanes of traffic is ridiculous even with current vehicle volumes. halve the lanes, loop the tram through, and return acres of bitumen to the public realm as extended parkland or a generous landscaped promenade on the eastern side of the road.

Wirrarninthi (Park 23)

Wirrarninthi(Park 23) is not just the home of the West Terrace Cemetery but also contains a sporting field, cricket nets, the Glover playground and an interpretive trail.

This park is a great spot to experience a relaxing natural environment whilst still being in the heart of the city.
