The TDU/Festival of Cycling takes over the city and even the state for one week a year. There are street parties, community rides, plus the race itself, and the whole event inspires the population to get out and enjoy their city on two wheels. It would be great if this spirit and festival could spread to take over a majority and define the entire month of January in Adelaide.

This could be done by doing some or all of the following: expanding the Tour itself, running a female tour down under the week before, have a bmx extreme sports event and bike only days in the city.

Every year a new piece of dedicated bike infrastructure should be opened, such as dedicated bike lanes on all major roads.

Victoria Square/ Tarntanyangga

Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga is Adelaide’s geographic centre. Located at the crossroads of King William and Grote-Wakefield Streets, the Square is a main thoroughfare between the city’s north-south and east-west corridors. Thousands of South Australians use Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga, either as pedestrians or commuters, each day.
