I love Himeji Gardens, the commemorative gardens arranged as part of our sister city relationship with Himeji, Japan. I would like to see a similar type of garden established in the South Western Park Lands for Shandong Province, SA's sister province. This garden could be for the Qingdao sister city relationship that the City of Adelaide has recently established. Alternatively, there has been discussions from the City of Unley in regards to setting up a sister city in Shandong, and the classical Chinese gardens could be co-funded between our two councils. Around Veale Gardens is ideal because it's a manicured garden setting, close to public transport and in line with China Town, plus already has some hills which are essential to a Chinese garden. It would serve the community in an educational, cultural and social capacity, as well as strengthen links with our international sister province and city.

Walyu Yarta (Park 21)

Walyu Yarta (Park 21) is home to everything from ornate and manicured gardens, to sport playing fields and community garden.

Situated on the South Terrace frontage of Walyu Yarta (Park 21), Veale Gardens is a characteristic 1960s-styled semi-formal garden, influenced by contemporary European urban public garden designs. Veale Gardens is an ideal spot for everything from relaxing picnics to grand weddings.
