Essentially a version of madrid's retiro park which is a beautiful urban forest with shady deciduous trees. It has a similar climate to Adelaide but way nicer parks. Crushed granite paths throughout for walkers runners and leisurely cycling, all bordered by hedges. The idea is that when you enter the park you feel removed from the city and cars. You shouldn't be able to see cars on the other side of the parklands from where you are standing. A deciduous urban forest has a huge cooling effect in warmer months. People will want to go in there, exploring, relaxing and so on. Adding interesting sections along the way such as a lot of other ideas on here (maze, gingerbread house, castle, huge outdoor beer garden) also attracts people to use it. Almost like creating a journey/adventure.
